While Marina Bay Sands (MBS) is an iconic must-see for holiday makers, its reputation among business travelers does not meet its potential. Brand expert agency FreemanXP approached Vostok VR to create a 360-degree video experience that would showcase the facilities, amenities, spaces and surroundings of MBS in order to shift the hotel’s image among business travelers. The Virtual Reality Singapore based company was chosen due to its track record with 360-degree videos and their specialization with complex equipment.
Innovation
Filming at MBS without infringement created a unique challenge for Vostok VR. The VR team had to apply various filming techniques to conceal thousands of pedestrians within the mall. Vostok VR became the first 360 video production team to use VR hyper lapse in Asia. With over 5000 shots, 4 hours of filming amassed to 20 seconds of footage. The team also used midnight shots and combined live and time lapse shots at the ArtScience Museum’s Crystal World exhibit and the famed MBS infinity pool, where low light required Vostok VR proprietary FIDEL 360 camera.
Result
The infringement free virtual reality movie, produced in an extremely short deadline, was launched in B2B presentations in China, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. More than 500 prospective business customers enjoyed this high-quality VR branded content.
