Virtual reality tour of Mediacorp facilities is a star-studded experience

Background:

The Mediacorp headquarters VR tour was initiated in mid 2018 to feature unknown and hidden parts of the new high tech campus at 1 Stars Avenue in Singapore.

Because it was impossible to show all facilities to third parties and business partners, Vostok VR created a star-studded 360 video tour comprising of selected areas of interest. The final product showcased Mediacorp Studios, Channel News Asia Studio, Wardrobe, Make-Up, Props and other select departments.

The 360-degree videos of the Mediacorp campus are available on Toggle 360 platform and as an interactive 6DOF (six degrees of freedom) VR experience.

Innovation:

This is the first time Mediacorp has showcased their new campus using virtual reality movies. The 360-degree video will be published on the Toggle 360 platform. An additional interactive experience features real 3D models of the campus so viewers can explore the facilities in an exhibition through virtual reality headsets.

Production:

VR production was done by Vostok VR with the assistance of Mediacorp Studios in ten days of filming. Top Singapore talents including Rebecca Lim, Desmond Tan, Pierre Png, Zoe Tay, Muttons in the morning from the Class 95 team, and Dzar Ismail put their stories in VR.

Results:

Ten immersive videos were published on Toggle platform highlighting the magic behind Vostok VR, the top media company in ASEAN. More than five million Toggle viewers can now enjoy a VR journey through the Mediacorp campus.
