Background:

This September the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) participated in the 15th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning, Guangxi. The trade event promotes Singapore as a liveable, sustainable, pro-innovation city and a connector of Chinese enterprises to international markets.

Virtual reality production company Vostok VR prepared an interactive VR city gallery for the event at the request of SBF.

Innovation:

The project virtually transports visitors from CAEXPO to Singapore through a map of the city-state’s central business district. The 17 square kilometer map is enhanced with 360-degree videos that feature tourism, finance and healthcare industries alongside landmarks like Esplanade, Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Financial Center. The virtual reality Singapore project incorporates two dimensional images and videos to include an extra layer of infographics.

This project was completed in just two weeks and was officially opened by Minister of State in the Ministry of National Development of Singapore, Mr. Koh Poh Koon.

Results

More than 1,000 visitors participated in the VR Singapore experience during the one-week event. SBF representatives were on hand to continue Singapore focused conversations.
